In a word of welcome, the Secretary General of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Very Rev Fr. Anondee on behalf of the GCBC, thanked the Nuncio for coming and expressed gratitude to God for his safe arrival.

Most Rev. Jagodzinski then presented his Letter of Introduction to the President of the Conference, Most Rev. Philip NAAMEH with the words “it is a tradition that every Nuncio assigned to a mission should bring a Letter from the Vatican’s Secretary of State to the Bishops Conference of the Country to which the Nuncio is sent”.

The GCBC President read out the Letter of Introduction which is written in Latin, after which he added that the Nuncio’s coming was the expression of the will of the Ghanaian Catholic Faithful to have another Nuncio. He assured His Excellency Jagodzinski that the GCBC would accord him the collaboration that was needed for the growth of the Church in Ghana.

The Nuncio in his response expressed gratitude to the Conference for the warm reception from the people of Ghana on his arrival. He pledged to draw the Church in Ghana and the Catholic Community closer to the mission and Gospel of Christ.

Most Rev Jagodzinski at the end of the exchanges was led to the NCS Chapel where Archbishop Naameh offered a prayer for him. The Nuncio in turn imparted his Apostolic Blessings on all present.
